Not sure why I like Morris Dancing so much. Maybe it’s because one of my favourite films is the Wicker Man, or maybe it’s because when I’m able to, I’d like to move to the country and sup ale. Anyway, these are some photographs that I took last year in Swanage, Dorset. It was mid-July on the seafront. I think this happens every year. There’s also the Swanage Folk festival as well.
Going through some of my film. These were from around 2004 when I would have been doing my City and Guilds, using a manual SLR, fixed lenses, and taking only Black and White or Slide. I have got lazy since. I had an old Fujica camera which was my Dad’s and you could buy second hand lenses, filters etc cheap for it. It packed up a few years back – the shutter went and I couldn’t get it repaired. I’m going to replace it.
Dorothy’s was over the road from the large plastic business hotel that I was staying in (where I met some ace people in the bar including a musician called Ne’lla Olio who gave me good advice on where to go out in LA, and a lovely lady who got me and my wife into the grammy nominations the next night). I didn’t go into Dorothy’s but liked the neon.
